abstract

considering convergent product as an important manufacturing technology for digital products, we integrate functions and sub-functions using a comprehensive fuzzy mathematical optimization process. to form the convergent product, a web-based fuzzy network is considered in which a collection of base functions and sub-functions configure the nodes and each arc in the network is to be a link between two nodes. the aim is to find an optimal tree of functionalities in the network adding value to the product in the web environment. first, a purification process is performed in the product network to assign the links among bases and sub-functions. then, numerical values as benefits and costs are determined for the arc and the node, respectively. also, a fuzzy customers’ value corresponding to the arcs is considered. next, the steiner tree methodology is adapted to a multi-objective model of the network to find the optimal tree. a fuzzy multi-objective solution methodology is developed for solving the proposed problem. finally, an example is worked out to illustrate the proposed approach.

Ant Colony Optimization for Multi-objective Digital Convergent Product Network

Convergent product is an assembly shape concept integrating functions and sub-functions to form a final product. To conceptualize the convergent product problem, a web-based network is considered in which a collection of base functions and sub-functions configure the nodes and each arc in the network is considered to be a link between two nodes. The aim is to find an optimal tree of functionali...

Solving Rectilinear Steiner Tree Problems

The rectilinear Steiner tree problem asks for a shortest tree connecting given points in the plane with rectilinear distance. The best theoretically analyzed algorithm for this problem with a fairly practical behaviour bases on dynamic programming and has a running time of O(n 2 2:62 n) (Ganley/Cohoon). The best implementation can solve random problems of size 35 (Salowe/Warme) within a day. In...

Solving the bi-objective prize-collecting Steiner tree problem with the ϵ-constraint method

In this paper, we study the bi-objective prize-collecting Steiner tree problem, whose goal is to find a subtree that minimizes the edge costs for building that tree, and, at the same time, to maximize the collected node revenues. We propose to solve the problem using an ǫ-constraint algorithm. This is an iterative mixed-integerprogramming framework that identifies one solution for every point o...

Solving Minimum Steiner Tree Problem Using Generalized Distributed Learning Automata

Minimum Steiner tree problem in a weighted graph is to find a least cost sub tree in the graph such that it contains special vertices called terminal points. Since this problem belongs to NP-Complete problems, many approximate algorithms including genetic algorithms and ant colony strategies have been designed for solving it. In this paper, we propose an algorithm based on distributed learning ...

Particle swarm optimization for a bi-objective web-based convergent product networks

Here, a collection of base functions and sub-functions configure the nodes of a web-based (digital)network representing functionalities. Each arc in the network is to be assigned as the link between two nodes. The aim is to find an optimal tree of functionalities in the network adding value to the product in the web environment. First, a purification process is performed in the product network ...
